An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti on Thursday condemned an 18-year-old man identified as, Emeka Emmanuel, to 10 years detainment without a choice of fine for assaulting a seven-year-old young girl.

In his decision, Equity Lekan Ogunmoye said the casualty’s clinical report, admission of the defendant  (presently convict), and his solicitation for pardoning just as his announcement validated the way that the arraignment had effectively demonstrated the component of the offense of assault.

The adjudicator stated, “I see the denounced as blameworthy as charged and is therefore condemned to 10 years imprisonment.”

Mr. Ridge Fapohunda, The examiner,  who is Ekiti State Lawyer General, said the defendant, who was a business kid close to the casualty’s mom shop, tricked the young lady into his supervisor’s shop and assaulted her on a pack of beans.

Fapohunda stated, “The defendant submitted the offense on May 12 and 20, 2019 at Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

“The offense negated Segment 31(2) of the Youngster’s Correct Law CAP, C7 Laws of Ekiti Territory of Nigeria, 2012,” he said.

meanwhile, Mr. Chris Omokhafe,  The guard counsel,  who called just one observer, asked the court to be tolerant in its judgment, arguing for the thought of the age of the defendant.
