Despite the worsening spate of Fulani herdsmen attack in the country, President Buhari has announced that foreign herders may now be considered for full registration as Nigerian citizens
The President hinted of the e-registration last Friday when he declared: “It is on this note therefore, that I am declaring a six-month amnesty period for illegal migrants already in the country to submit themselves to the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) for the purpose of this registration.”
On Tuesday, July 16th 2019, the Controller General of Customs Calabar Division also announced that foreign FULANI Immigrants will go through e-passport registration.
In response, Nigerians have largely condemned this plans by the President saying that it is an agenda to islamize Nigeria as a whole, from the RUGA settlement plans to this new development.
Some on the other hand have said that the herders should return to their various States of origin since their presence in communities across the country has been a source of chaos or communal clashes.
Speaking to News Reporters during an interview, Dr. Saleh Momale, Permanent Secretary to the Kaduna State Peace Commission, said that sending these herders back to their settlements is not the best choice, as Normads (Herders) are not settled in one location. He is of the Opinion that there is inter-community crisis and wide spread criminality in the country.
Some comments from well meaning Nigerians read below;
During Obasanjo's era when confronted with the OPC crisis in the south west,he gave a shot at sight order against the group to show he is not biased as a yoruba man.But Buhari has been making all manner of excuses for the fulani herdsmen.He is even the patron of Myetti Allah.

Donald Trump puts America First,
Vladimir Putin puts Russia First,
Paul Kagame puts Rwanda First,
But Buhari puts herdsmen FIRST
FG has not paid ₦30k minimum wage. Yet, Baba wants to grant amnesty to illegal migrants and also build Ruga settlement for herdsmen.
What a President we have. – Mr Onyekachi
This is an agenda to isalmise Nigeria no doubt.
It is only when it affects Fulani’s that our president speaks. Where’s Leah Shaibu? – Rotimi
I don’t like the way Nigerians perceive northerners I am a fulani man and I’m scared for my life I seem like a threat everywhere I go – Alhaji Rehaan.
