Kana village in the Nasarawa Local Government Area was attacked by gunmen killing one person while a pregnant woman and seven others were kidnapped.
Newsnaija learned that the gunmen, numbering about 20, stormed the village and started shooting into the air which led to many people injured in the process.
Mr. Mohammed Ottos, The Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government in Nasarawa State, who confirmed the incident, said the suspected book haram came from the Kana hill and went back through the same route.
Ottos, said, “I have just visited the town to obtain information and to sympathize with the families of the victims.
An eyewitness appealed for improved security in the state.
The eyewitness said, “We heard gunshots for some hours, and no security was around to protect us. As I speak with you, we don’t know their whereabouts; hence, there is a need for government to continue to provide maximum security of our lives and property.”
