Cynthia Okereke, a veteran Nollywood actress, has passed away.
Her coworker Joseph Okechukwu shared the news of her passing on Wednesday in a post to his verified Twitter account.
Nwanyi oma, REST IN PEACE, Okechukwu wrote. I’m beyond words broken. One of the hardest things I’ve recently had to cope with was hearing that you went to be with the Lord only last night as I was about to pay for your travel ticket to come finish what we started.
“I hope I can bounce back from this shock. Actually, life is simply a mist. You have it one second, then you don’t. Since I’ve known you more than 20 years ago, you’ve always been such an incredible, nice, and lovely person.
“I never expected you to go so abruptly. I am speechless. Stay asleep, Cynthia. May your lovely soul continue to rest till we reunite in glory.
Remember that Clemson Cornel and Okereke were both abducted in Enugu, but their captors ultimately released them unharmed days after they had been reported missing.
