The Lagos State High Court has sentenced a convict, identified as Shola Agboola to 21 years’ imprisonment for armed robbery.
Agboola was arraigned by Justice Hakeem Oshodi, on four counts bordering on armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and assault.
However, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
During the trial, Olabisi Ogungbesan, the prosecutor, presented four witnesses and tendered five exhibits.
Ogungbesan urged the court to convict the defendant accordingly.
She noted that the testimonies of the witnesses and the five exhibits tendered before the court confirmed that the defendant committed the crime.
The Justice held that the evidence provided by the prosecution was credible and compelling.
He afterward sentenced Agboola to 21 years’ imprisonment.
