The official working hours in Jigawa State have been cut by two hours during the 2023 Ramadan season.
This was stated in a statement released to journalists by his public relations officer, Ismail Dutse, and signed by the State Chief of the Civil Service, Hussaini Kila.
In accordance with the announcement, state employees would report to work at 9 am and leave at 3 pm instead of 5 pm, Monday through Thursday.
However, he added, “employees would come in on Fridays at 9 am and leave at 1 pm as usual.”
He clarified that the action is intended to provide civil servants more time to prepare for their Ramadan break and more opportunities to participate in the spiritual activities of the Holy Month.
The state’s administration expressed the wish that its employees would pray to God for guidance and benefits during the holy month of Ramadan.
Also, it is intended that throughout their fast, civil officials will pray for the state’s and all of Nigeria’s economic well-being. added the statement.
