To disperse voters who were waiting for officials and ad hoc personnel of the Independent National Electoral Commission to start voting for the upcoming governorship and state assembly election, thugs have encroached on the Adejare Polling Unit in Ilasa, Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State.
According to an eyewitness, Arome Solomon, INEC personnel were nowhere to be located as of 10:12 am, and this left many people stranded till the thugs in the nearby street entered the polling unit with daggers and other sharp items to disperse them.
“Police officers are also absent. All of the people have fled, and they don’t want to come back,” he continued.
Another observer who wished to remain anonymous and who also serves as a party agent reported seeing no police officers at Polling Unit 052, Olusoji Street, off Afariogun, Oshodi.
“I was forced out of the area by suspected APC thugs after I confirmed that I am an agent of the opposition party,” he continued.
“They took my phone and looked through it to make sure I hadn’t captured anything of their behavior.
He continued, “They also chased away non-indigenes despite their registration at several polling places, threatening to beat them if they protest.
