On Saturday, there was a protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Registration Area Center in the Amuwo-Odofin Nursery and Primary School, Mile 2, Lagos, over the delay in the payment of the commission’s ad hoc personnel.
Before they left the RAC, several of the ad hoc personnel claimed they were each guaranteed £15,000, but as of past 9am, they hadn’t received their money.
“We were informed that we would earn $15,000 before we left here,” claimed a member of the ad hoc staff who went by the name Matthew. “But they are yet to pay and are even threatening us.”
At the three polling places within the school, voting has already started.
