An Ekiti State Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, has remanded one Ola Samuel for alleged conspiracy to rape a middle-aged woman on Tuesday.

Samuel was also alleged to have sent the nude video of the woman to her former husband through social media.

The accused is standing trial for conspiracy to rape and sending the woman’s nude photos/videos through social media.

The prosecutor, E. S. Etane, told the court that the defendant and others at large committed the offence sometime in October 2020.

The prosecutor said the offences were contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Act, Cap C39, LFN, 2004 and Section 24(1)(a) and (b) of the Cyber Crime Prohibition and Prevention Law, 2015.

Magistrate Dolapo Fasuba In her ruling, condemned the sharing of the nude video of another human, saying, “Sexual act is sacred and should remain private.”

The magistrate reiterated the need for every human begins to protect the dignity of a sexual act.

the magistrate ordered that “Bail for the accused person is hereby refused; he is ordered to be remanded in the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Ado Ekiti, till April 8, 2010,”.
