Reports reaching us say that  Former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo escaped a plane crash today due to bad weather.

Chief Obasanjo who escaped the crash was on board a Boeing 777-300 Ethiopian airliner carrying 393 passengers which departed the Bole International  airport, Addis Ababa at about 9:00 a.m Ethiopian time and 7:00a.m  Nigerian time when tragedy struck as the pilot tried to land at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

Rather than landing on the first touchline of the runway,  the pilot overshot it due to the heavy downpour landing on the third  touchline. The pilot,  quickly manovered the plane back into the air, flying out of the airport . 20 minutes after the pilot had hovered between Lagos and Ogun, the plane finally landed at the Airport.

Those on the same flight as Obasanjo  include the Director General of Nigerian Association of chambers and commerce, industry Mines and Agriculture Ambassador  Ayoola Olukanni, Prof  Samson Tunde Adebayo, the Director of ports inspection, National Agency for food and Drug Administration and Control as well as other Nigerian Citizens.
