The family of a three-year-old girl, identified as Seyi Jebose, has been thrown into mourning after she drowned in a well in the Ipaja area of Lagos State.
Newsnaija learned that the little girl was playing in the compound of her parents’ house on Gemini Street, Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos, when she mistakenly stepped on the rusty cover of the well and fell into it.
Emergency responders were alerted and the body recovered.
Nosa Okunbor, A spokesman for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, said the recovery operation commenced around 7.42 pm, adding that the girl’s corpse has been handed over to her family.
Okunbor, said, “With the combined efforts of LASEMA, Lagos State Fire Service and NPF, Alagolo division, the girl was brought out of the well and rushed to the Solad Hospital, Maria Street, Baruwa Ipaja, where she was confirmed dead on arrival.”
