A 25-year-old Man Identified as Muhammed Obadimeji, who was trying to separate a fight between two men known as Eniola Ayodele, 28, and Kayode Babashola, 31 in the Dopemu area of Lagos State has been killed.
It was learned the two men and girl all live in the same address on Momodu Street, Orile-Agege.
Newsnaija gathered that Obadimeji intervened to make peace between Ayodele and Babashola who were fighting over a girl both of them are dating identified as Barakat Wasiu, while separating the rivals, that Ayodele, who was armed with a sharp object, allegedly stabbed Obadimeji in the chest in an attempt to stab his rival.
It was learned the effect of the stabbing made the peacemaker fall to the ground, while fighting for his life some good people came to his rescue and quickly rushed him to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, but passed on while being treated.
A resident of the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the deceased had no relationship with Barakat but played the role of a peacemaker between the two rivals who were fighting.
Newsnaija learned that Obadimeji’s corpse was deposited in the Yaba General Hospital’s mortuary for autopsy, while the suspects had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.
Bala Elkana, the state Police Public Relations Officer, When contacted, said a good person reported the incident to the police, adding that one of the rival lovers stabbed Obadimeji, while he was trying to separate the fight.
The PPRO said “A team of policemen was mobilized to the incident scene, where Ayodele, Babashola and Barakat Wasiu were arrested and brought to the station. While Obadimeji’s corpse has been deposited in the mortuary of the General Hospital in Yaba for autopsy. The investigation is in progress and the case has been transferred to the SCIID, Panti, Yaba, for further action.”
