A 30-year-old motorcyclist identified as Gboye Adebowale has appeared before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife for allegedly abducting and raping a 13-year-old girl.

It was gathered that Adebowale, allegedly lured the victim away from her parents’ place of residence to where he eventually raped her.

Emmanuel Abdullahi, The prosecutor said the defendant committed the offences on 24 July 2020, at Ogbon-Agbara Street, Ile-Ife.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 218 and 225 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2002.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two counts of rape and abduction.

His counsel, E. F. Adeojo, urged the court to admit Adebowale to bail and stated the readiness of the defendant to provide reliable sureties.

Ayeni,  adjourned the matter till August 13, 2020, for the bail application to be considered.
