A 25-year-old woman, known as Adenike Olofin, has been arraigned by the Ekiti State Police Command before an Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for an alleged fraud of N384,000.
Caleb Leramo, The police prosecutor, told the court that Olofin allegedly committed the offence between January and August 2020 in Ado-Ekiti.
The police Prosecutor said, “The defendant, a staff of Glorious Grace Multi Dynamic Investment Limited, fraudulently converted the sum of N384,000 belonging to the company to her own.
“The offence contravenes Section 383 and is punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.”
The prosecutor urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
But the defendant pleaded not guilty.
Mr. Adedeji Emmanuel, Counsel for the defendant, urged the court to grant his client bail.
Mr. Abdulhamid Lawal, The Chief Magistrate granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till November 5 for hearing.
