Fitness is fun, especially when engaged in as a family bonding activity. You want that right? Let’s walk you through some fitness routines your kids would love to engage in with you. But first;
Fitness routines are basically trainings that balances the five elements of good health being, physical health, emotional health, spiritual health, intellectual health and social health.
Let’s talk more about the physical health aspect today and the others come in subsequently, shall we? According to Wikipedia, physical fitness is a state of health and wellbeing and more specifically the ability to perform physical activities and daily activities without unnecessary fatigue. Some examples of fun fitness routines are;
1. Back turns;
This is very simple really, just stand feet shoulders width apart and arms on waist. Extend your right arm and turn left, recover then repeat with left arm. This increases your ability to co-ordinate movement through your lower back.

2. Jumping jacks;
Oh your kids are gonna love this one, they love to jump right?. While in a standing position, keep jumping to a position with legs spread and arms raised. This helps work on all the major muscles in the lower body, strengthening your glutes, quads, hip, calves, etc.

3. Side Bends;
This one is kinda painful but no pain, no gain, right? Stand upright and leans over from the hips to the right or left. This helps with core strength and flexibility on the lower back and the abdominals.

4. Knee hugs
Another fun one. Y’all can do this lying or standing, just place your hands around one knee and draw it towards your chest. Repeat for with the other knee or just do both at the same time, lying down of course. This increases flexibility and strengthens all the muscles in the legs.

5. Squats;
Fun, painful and highly thrilling. Lower your hips from a standing position and then stand back up. Repeat as much as you want. This exercise burns calories, strengthens your tendons, bones and ligaments.

6. Side to side hops;
Another jumper! Stand straight with your hands by your side, feet hip width apart then just hop from side to side. This increases aerobic fitness, strengthens the heart and boosts weight loss.

7. Arm circles;
Extend your arms to the sides and draw small circles in the air with them. Kids love imaginary stuff, right? This helps in toning muscles in the shoulder arm (biceps and triceps).

Exercise increases yours and your kids’ body metabolism, so you’ll have a literal ‘fit fam’, pun intended.
It also stimulates your mind, so you don’t need coffee every morning, and of course your kids don’t.
Y’all are gonna be active and interactive all day long. Who doesn’t love a fun family?
Do these with your kids every morning or evening and your kids are gonna be the most active and intelligent kids in school. Trust me!
